Overview of Day Training and Habilitation Services (DT&H)
What are DT&H Services? Day Training and Habilitation services (DT&H) are community integration and life skills services provided to all adults with developmental disabilities and related conditions. They include support in finding and maintaining employment, retirement programs, leisure, recreation and transportation, as well as, psychological and behavioral support, if needed.
Who Receives DT&H Services? Adults with developmental disabilities and/or related conditions are eligible for DT&H services when a county case manager determines that the individual will benefit from such services. Individuals vary widely in skill and functioning levels, from those who need constant supervision to those who need only periodic training and support.
Who Benefits From DT&H Services? Everyone who qualifies for DT&H services. With the support of DT&H providers, individuals with developmental disabilities have shown that they can be contributing members of their communities. DT&H services provide training and support that enables individuals to secure jobs and earn wages.
Individuals, who are not able to work due to medical reasons, behavioral concerns or their choice, receive DT&H services focused on developing the individual’s independence in other areas.
